Day 1 Arrival in Reykjavik

Welcome traveler! Once you arrive at Reykjavik airport, you will take a white bus with the FLYBUS logo, which will take you from themain gateof the airport to your accommodation in the city or to the nearest point where a stop is allowed. Take advantage of this ride to look out the window and start falling in love with the Icelandic landscapes.

After this tour, you have the afternoon free to explore Reykjavik for the first time. But don’t get too excited, because tomorrow you’ll have to get up early – the adventure has just begun!

Day 2 Reykjavik - Golden Circle - Reykjavik

Ready to feel like you’re in a movie? We will meet at your accommodation or at a nearby meeting point to start our adventure through the Golden Circle, one of Iceland’s most epic routes.

We will start with Þingvellir National Park, not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also the site of the world’s first parliament (in 930 AD!). Continue to the Geysir geothermal area, from which the word “geyser” descends. Let’s finish with the Gullfoss Waterfall (the “Golden Waterfall”), so called because of its breathtaking view given by the Hvítá river that launches with a spectacular roar into a narrow canyon, giving us spectacular views.

In the afternoon, we return to Reykjavik where you will have free time to rest, explore or share an epic dinner with your travel companion to prepare for the second part of the day…Aurora Borealis Hunting! You will be picked up at your accommodation at nightfall to go in search of this amazing natural phenomenon and one of the most magical spectacles on the planet. They will be used to take you to dark areas, away from the city lights, to increase the chances of seeing the sky dancing in shades of green and violet.

Don’t forget: VERY warm clothes (Iceland is unforgiving!), camera (preferably in manual mode) to capture the magic and, above all, patience because the auroras are not always guaranteed, but the adventure is.

Did you know that…
  • In Þingvellir National Park you can literally walk between two continents, because it is the point where the tectonic plates of America and Eurasia separate.
  • The Great Geysir has been spewing water up to 170 meters high at its most active moments – that’s higher than the Tower of Pisa!

Day 3Reykjavík- Blue Lagoon (or Sky Lagoon)- Reykjavík

After yesterday’s adventure, it’s time to relax (and warm up!) like a real Viking. Today we are going to Blue Lagoon, one of the most famous geothermal spas in Iceland and one of the most visited attractions in the country. Its turquoise waters at 40°C and loaded with minerals such as silica and sulfur are located in the Grindavík lava field and are the best kept secret for a Nordic goddess skin. Bring your swimsuit, we will provide you with a towel, facial mask and a hot drink to make the most of this experience in the Blue Lagoon, spa in nature.

Important information: Due to recent volcanic eruptions near Grindavík, the visit to Blue Lagoon may be replaced by Sky Lagoon, another thermal gem. But don’t worry, here we also give you a towel and a “Pure Pass” to enjoy a 7-step spa ritual that will leave you as good as new – a guaranteed treat!

Day 4 Reykjavík- South Iceland and Black Sand Beach - Reykjavík

Are your batteries recharged? Today we set the alarm early to experience a day full of natural wonders of southern Iceland. We start with the Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, famous for its beauty. Wear waterproof clothing because you will have the opportunity to walk behind the waterfall! You will get a little wet, but the views from behind the water curtain are simply epic.

Then, we head to the impressive Skógafoss Waterfall, which with its 60-meter drop will leave you speechless. Here you can decide: walk to the base and feel the force of the waterfall, or climb up to a viewpoint that offers a spectacular panoramic view.

The last stop of the day will be at the famous black sand beach of Reynisfjara. This surreal landscape, surrounded by basalt columns and rock formations emerging from the ocean, will make you feel an overwhelming atmosphere thanks to the contrast between the black sand and the Atlantic waves.

Attention! Here the waves can be super dangerous, so stay away from the water. Don’t get too close to the water, as sneaker waves can come without warning.

During the tour, we will stop for lunch at a service area, where you can enjoy a picnic lunch, or we will eat at a local restaurant. Another option is to bring your own lunch and enjoy it in one of the beautiful landscapes you will visit during the day.

Important note: Lunch is not included, so make sure you have ISK (Icelandic kroner) or a shopping card.

Did you know that…
  • According to local legend, behind theSeljalandsfoss Waterfall is hidden a chest full of gold, left there by a Viking settler. So sharpen your eyesight. And, even if you don’t find it, you’ll find that your eyesight will be your treasure enough.

Day 5Reykjavik - End

With check-out taken care of and everything ready for your return flight (don’t worry, the transfer from your accommodation or a nearby meeting point is already arranged), you will have the morning free for one last adventure. Take the opportunity to stroll around the city, visit places that inspire you, shop for souvenirs or simply enjoy the last moments in the city.

And, of course, don’t forget to say goodbye to your new friends, because after this trip, you will have stories to tell, photos to show and companions for life!

*BOREAL BURROW HUNTING: Date and place will be chosen after a meticulous study of weather conditions. Te dejo este artículo por si quieres saber más sobre las Auroras Boreales.
