Brihuega Lavender Fields 2025 When and how to get there?

Brihuega is a town, less than 100 kilometers from Madrid, located in the province of Guadalajara, in the region of Castilla La Mancha. This town is known for its historical charm with its architecture but mainly for its natural environment. You can find many photos on social networks with people posing in front of the Lavender field.

Lavender fields

The highlight of its surroundings is its famous lavender field, which blooms in summer. Many visitors, even from far away, come to the town to admire it. These lavender fields cover vast tracts of land that create a beautiful purple landscape.
In town, you will find lavender everywhere, on balconies, streets and doorsteps. There is even a market selling lavender perfumes, soaps and cookies.

Church of Nuestra Señora de la Peña

In addition, this medieval town preserves its walls and its fortified castle. There is also the church of Nuestra Señora de la Peña, a perfect example of the transition from Romanesque to Gothic. At the exit, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the landscape.

How and when to see the Lavender Fields?

The perfect time to go is during July/late June, when lavender is in bloom.

You can reach this village by car, about an hour from the center of Madrid. You can see how to get here at this link.

Traffic is usually heavy during these dates and parking can be difficult, but if you don’t want to worry about it, we have a solution for you. We propose a round trip from Madrid during the best dates to see the fields.

Lavender Festival Program

The city also hosts a popular music festival called“Lavender Festival“. This year it is held on July 11, 12, 18 and 19. All participants must wear white.

Professor Max’s miniature museum

Brihuega is home to one of the few miniature museums in the world, thanks to the work of the illusionist and hypnotist Juan Elegido Millan, better known as Professor Max, a native of this beautiful town, who in his travels managed to collect thousands of small objects.

The Museum exhibits part of this collection, which consists of some 65,000 pieces: hats, weapons, suitcases, shoes, dogs, coffee sets, paintings, sculptures, furniture of different styles and periods, more than 30 countries represented with their variety of artists. Here you will also find the smallest house in the world.

In a place like this could not miss of course the Guinness World Records, specifically 4, starting with the size of a matchbox, and reaching up to the head of a pin.
